Designing for Ourselves: A Calm, Crafted Workspace by Inly Studio

At Inly Studio, we designed our own workspace as a space to think, create, and breathe.

The architecture responds to simplicity—its roof form and material dimensions define the building’s shape, while long eaves filter sunlight, allowing soft illumination all day. Inside, an open plan with level shifts and glass partitions gives flexibility and connection. A tree court draws in light and nature, grounding daily life in calmness.

We placed the building inward for privacy, framed it with a bamboo-lined fence, and added a gravel court for gathering. The veranda becomes a threshold—a resting spot between inside and out.

We used steel for ease of disassembly and reclaimed timber to speak to sustainability—floorboards from old houses, plywood ceilings, and leftover pieces repurposed into walls.

More than a project, this is our testbed. A place where we experiment with materials, details, and ideas. Where constraint becomes creativity. Where design becomes personal.
